First of all, I apologise for the super delayed testimonial. I’ve been so busy with my wedding preparations, I barely have time to rest.
So here it goes..
The first time I heard about Gem By Gems was when I was given a flyer, and the first thing that came to my mind was,’ this has got to be expensive!’. After all, these potential rings are customised. I’m one of those who has this mindset, that anything that is personalised has got to be expensive, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. We were not even planning on marriage at that time so I never thought of spending on something I didn’t need.
The 2nd encounter was when we were already planning to get married, so the first place we had to go was to a wedding exhibition at the Singapore Expo. Zul saw your booth and told me we should take a look. I told him, ‘never mind la, looks expensive’. He was quite upset that I didn’t want to take look.
So a few months after, he decided to call you, made an appointment and told me that we were going. I couldn’t say no. The amazing thing about meeting you guys for the first time, was not only the excitement of getting my own wedding ring customised, but also how warm and friendly you guys were. You treated us like friends and made us feel comfortable. The best thing was you guys never pressured us to get a ring. Don’t we all hate when we get pressured to buy something? It takes out the fun in shopping. I was quite certain I wanted to get my ring done with you guys, coz we walked around and couldn’t find a ring that I loved. (and those I loved were all super expensive, like $20000 expensive. Haha)
I have seen some of your work on facebook, and I have already decided that I didn’t want something traditional. I was very worried, right up to the day of the collection. I didn’t know if I would like it.
When I saw my ring, I think I went crazy. It really is what I want my wedding ring to be. I can’t wait to wear it in June. I really can’t thank you guys enough. You did an AMAZING job. And all within our budget!

Gem By Gems, they totally blew us away with what they can do! Going over to Gem by Gems was never a part of the plan. I was actually browsing through possible wedding rings options and was thinking of something unique and different from the ordinary “buy off the shelves” kind of ring. I suddenly got the idea of a Black Diamond Ring. And I started browsing through websites and found some black diamond ring designs and finally, stumbled upon Gem by Gems!
After much discussion and getting rough quotes from Hussain and Yanni, we finally decided to set a date to meet them and discuss about the rings. Hussain and Yanni were so friendly and warm when they met us. Their patience on waiting for me to decide on the perfect setting for my ring is unbelievable! I am the most fickle minded woman alive! And even on the last minute when I changed my ring design they still accept it with no changes to price or what so ever!
Our intention was only to get my black diamond ring customized, but my Fiancé got interested in the men’s design and somehow we ended up with both our rings done with Gem By Gems. We also appreciate Hussain & Yanni explaining the difference on the material for the men’s rings and their input to make our rings designs look more awesome & unique.
And as expected, the outcome of both our rings were PERFECTLY GORGEOUS and it was ready much faster than we expected! Here it goes. No cooking up of stories. What we really feel and from the bottom of our hearts and not only to you but Yanni as well. Didn’t have the chance to personally thank her.
Before I start, it may sound like we are advertising them but it’s definitely not. This testimonial is all about how we had felt at the end of the whole experience with Gem By Gems.
I had chanced upon Gem By Gems online after countless number of jewellery shop hopping to get a ring for myself (as an Muslim guy, wanting a ring without gold at a budget is not an easy task considering prices of platinum). Well first impression was, would this place get the job done at a reasonable price and at the same time dun get myself conned as they are situated at a office at Keypoint. You might be thinking, a humble office selling customised rings?? Well, in Feb 12, Hussain definitely got the job done (not only done but a job very well done) and got us happily walking out of the door not only with the rings that we had customised but also gaining a new friendship with a wonderful couple – Hussain and Yanni.
After the 1st visit and a long consultation with Hussain, I did not manage to get my engagement rings with him due to personal reasons and he did not show any unhappiness about it or any signs of frustration. He said anytime I feel like getting a ring, just give him a buzz. At that point, I knew that I would be back to have my wedding bands with him and here I am writing a testimonial after being a very happy customer. Hmm I would prefer calling it a friend.
On the 2nd visit and countless chats online, we managed to decide on the wedding bands. I did not feel any uneasiness telling him about our constraints in budget and how i am able to get the best out of what he can provide. Well, I can say I got a very good setup for the ring. We got our rings as promised and there was some problems in sizing. The ring felt a little tight, guess my fingers grew bigger. And without any qualms, he managed to get it fixed and even changed the tones on our rings at no cost to make it look even better. Thanks a lot Hussain and Yanni for the opinions, especially on the toning.
It did not feel like I had got this rings from a retailer customising rings. Imagine if you had a friend who does this business. Hussain did just exactly that. It was more of how your friend would help you out to choose the setting, design to cater to your needs and at the same time keeping it within your budget. To sum it up, Simply Perfect to the details you would want and he had welcomed all of our feedback to get the rings fixed to our likings. We were very comfortable with both Yanni and Hussain and everything was done promptly within the promised dates.

.We were told that our rings will only be ready after Hari Raya but to our surprise, they were ready in a month. That was super fast. A wedding ring is definitely the most important accessory of that special day – and what makes it better is when you simply cannot stop gazing at how beautiful it is. It took us almost 3 weeks to finalize the diamond cut, size and design of the rings, but both Tanweer and Yanni were extremely generous with their patience and support. The end result was definitely worth all of it!
Tanweer also surprised us by engraving Zafer’s name on the rings! Zafer on one, Amir on the other! If we were talking about customer service here, I’d give them full marks. I must say that I’m awfully excited to wear my extremely gorgeous rings in October and I’m already planning to get new pair of couple bands from them!

First and foremost, I would like to thank both Tanweer and Yanni for the magnificent customised rings that I ordered months ago. I must say I really love it as it really catered to the design that I wanted. No doubt diamond on a tension setting can be very risky (I got to totally agree with this), but the outcome is exquisite. Price wise is reasonable. They were very attentive to my requests and very patient with my indecisiveness. What I like best about GBG, is the service both Tanweer and Yanni has rendered to me. Despite the fact that my order came in at the very last minute, but I was impressed and thankful to them both when I received the rings within the short period of time, just before my Birthday. They also went an extra miles to get my ring resized and the diamond fixed when it came off once. We were very excited in getting our wedding rings. We wanted something unique and different but within our budget, we couldn’t find such rings that fits the criteria. Then we came across Gem by Gems on facebook and was very excited after seeing some of their recent works of art. We decided to have our rings custom made to the design of Montblanc 4810 collection rings. We sent a quotation to them and was surprised that not only was the price within our budget, they even quoted higher diamond quality than of the original product. We met with Hussain and Yanni and they were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Four months later, the rings were ready and to our astonishment, it was very similar to the original Montblanc rings if not exactly the same! Both of us have the very bad habit of doing things at the very last minute. The same happened when we were looking for the ring. When we finally contacted Tanweer and Yanni to discuss about the ring approximately 3 months before the wedding, we were not sure if they are able to commit due the short time. When it came time for me and my fiance to buy our wedding bands, we went to EVERY SINGLE Jewellery shop we saw and tried on many rings but none caught our fancy. I had been blog hopping for a while and I bumped into the GemBygems.com site. Being a lover of all things bling, I drooled over the many many designs that were on display. We decided to look online for ring designs and found one that we both liked. It was a design that we had not seen in any of the local shops. I emailed GemBygems.com and attached a picture of the ring and waited eagerly for a reply. The pricing i was quoted was very reasonable and we decided to meet up for further discussion.
Needless to say, we were sold the moment Hussain and Yanni met us at our preferred location. They were very friendly and knew a lot about rings. They took note of every tiny detail that we wanted (ring size, thickness, width, diamond placement, setting, finishing) and shared with us their ideas as well. They didn’t even mind when my fiance and I spent a long time just pondering over the finishing of our rings (rose gold, matte, polished, 14K, 18K – they can do everything!!) Hussain took the time to measure our sizes and advised us on the diamond size that would fit the design best. Our first meeting was a blast and we were sure Hussain and Yanni will be able to make the rings we wanted.
My future MIL gave me her ring as a present and told me I could use her diamond if I didn’t like the original setting so I asked Hussain if it was possible to use our own diamond for my ring and he immediately said it was fine. (Which jewellery shop would let you use your own diamond in their setting?? none- cos we had enquired about it before!) With Gem By Gems, everything IS possible. We met up again at our location to pass them the diamond and ended up playing with Hussain’s many diamond tools. These guys are not your off the mill sales people who just want to do business, they treated us as friends and yet again, we were assured our decision to deal with Gem By Gems was a brilliant move!
Within 2 months, our rings were ready. We met Hussain and Yanni to collect our rings (at our location). The suspense was unbearable and we were very pleased to see our rings finally! The craftsmanship was impeccable. Every detail was looked into. My fiance was very surprised (and happy) when Hussain told us that he managed to set bigger diamonds for my fiance’s ring (at no additional cost). The night was spent with us admiring our rings in pure glee.Our family members loved the rings too

I was planning to propose to my girlfriend earlier this year and I because I am in a creative industry I insisted that the engagement ring be something unique. The problem was finding someone which could customise a ring for me. I approached Hussain and Yanni after stumbling upon their website online and arranged for a meeting to discuss my plans.
They told me of the limitless possibilities in which I could design the ring and after the first meeting I went back and started to sketch out my “one of a kind”engagement ring design. A couple of months later I met up with them again to discuss my rather unique design. Hussain patiently tried to understand my messy sketches and after an hour or so of discussion we finally finalised the design and the deposit was paid.
About two months later Hussain informed me that the ring was ready (two weeks ahead of time for my proposal). It took a while for my fiance to warm up to the unique design of the ring but once I put it on her finger (it fit like a glove by the way) she couldn’t stop staring at it. I don’t know what it is about the ring but it really gleams on her finger, it’s not just the diamond, but the ring itself. Everyone who has seen the ring loves it and are fascinated with the meaning behind the ring and are even more fascinated that you can actually customise it to such an extent.
From start to end, Hussain and Yanni sat down with me over 4 sessions spanning over half a year, all just for this ring. I’m truly grateful to them for their help in making my engagement ring unique and I’m looking forward to asking them to craft our wedding bands in the near future.

After doing so, I was like ” Are they serious ? ” Its like they can make any design in and out of this world. I was still not convinced of their work but after what they did to create the perfect Lord of The Ring Silver Crown for her. I was truly and finally convinced that I’m gonna place an order with them. Being an arty farty Show Stars, the cut on the glass shelves didn’t excite us as much. We wanted something different and not the norms “off the shelves” seen through the glass panels of retail outlets. I for one, often blog hopped to Gem By Gems website to check out their latest collection, etc. (Got the link from Yanni’s blog) and definitely there’s a touch of class to it that attracted my attention.
Knowing that Arin loves customized products, I began to send Arin the pictures of rings that he might like. Few of the designs caught his eyes.Since our Solemnisation theme is going to be ‘Black and White’, we thought it will be cool to have our rings to have a touch of ‘black’ too. Hence we chose the “White Gold Black Diamond Wedding Ring” for mine and “Silver Men’s Onyx Ring with Diamonds” for Arin.
Hussain and Yanni were practically themselves that evening. They’ll listen to our ideas and at the same time implemented theirs. We chatted like we’ve met for a long time, and we even played with Hussain’s “Jewel’s toys”. We also got to learn new things about diamonds, its carat, cut clarity and etc. Gem By Gems are a friendly bunch, a walking Diamond Wikipedia and a very understanding bunch. They designed us something we can say is worth it for our budget.
We met up and collected our rings less than 2 months after our order and we LOVE it! Though the “Good and Bad news” part kinda alarm us at 1st, still it was worth it. The carat we initially chose for my black diamond was not available, but Hussain and Yanni worked it all out and gave me 1.4ct Black diamond instead and even added 2 extra diamond on the side. I LOVE IT!

I’ve known Tanweer Hussain for quite a while now. When he informed me of his business I decided to take the plunge and trust him with customising my first ring from Gem By Gems for Fai’s birthday. Indeed, my trust in him paid off. Soon, I was ordering my second ring from him. My engagement ring. When it comes to choosing my engagement ring, I actually did a lot of scouting. Going in and out of other jewellery stores enquiring if they offered a ‘Princess Cut Diamond Solitaire’, most answered no and some do customisation but the price was over our budget. So, in the end we settled for Gem by Gems. We received both a good offer and a good service. One thing to note as well, Tanweer Hussain never hard sell any of his products to us. I got to know about Gem By Gems when I went to Pameran Pengantin last year. I was impressed with their designs & of course the pricing. I realised long ago that I could not get the kind of price provided by Gem By Gems if I were to buy from the usual jewellery retail outlet. But other than ordering my fiance’s wedding ring from them, I also order the Silver Wedding Crown. At first I tried looking for other resources to get that crown. I even wanted to made it myself. But I took the risk by letting Gem By Gems to do it for me.
Amazingly, it looked exactly as I had imagine from the movie Lord of The Rings. I never thought that they could do it at first but the crown turned out perfect. So I told myself that if Gem By Gems can make the crown, they can make ANYTHING. In fact I am intending to make replicas of a few of my gold jewellery heirlooms (for my gold pendants, chains, bangles) into white gold with them.

GemByGems was recommended to me by my colleague and close friend in school. I was really taken by their designs and I also liked the idea of being able to customize my jewellery. Out of curiosity, I decided to get them to quote me a price for a tri-colour rolling band ring. The quote which came back was really reasonable and I decided to buy the ring from them.
Though the packaging is simple,the design and the workmanship of the ring is truly commendable. Hussain had assured me that what I would receive would be exactly as what was pictured on the website. Though I had my doubts at first, these doubts were laid to rest with the collection of my ring. I remembered the simple and fuss-free experience I had and resolved to do further business with them.
Fast forward about a year or two later and I’m thinking of getting an wedding bands that suited us. Though we liked the designs, the sizes were not to our preference. This was easily solved when Hussain helped us customise the ring widths to our liking. The part that suited thekiasu Singaporean in me was when we realised that we would only be paying for the amount of gold used in our rings.There is no “one cost fots all sizes” kind of pricing. Hussain and Yanni really have a lot of patience. The way they sat us down and went through the process of deciding on our rings with us really shows their goodwill and genuine desire to leave their customers with the best possible shopping experience.

I had trouble looking for a ring to match a previous ring my fiance had bought for our engagement. I wanted something specific and GemByGems was definitely very accommodating as they sat together with my fiance and myself discussing our options and choices. The warm service and the fact that they patiently sat with us close to 3 hours shows the importance they place in customer satisfaction. I am very satisfied with the end product because they gave me what I wanted and more.
